Pass me your lease

According to the law, landlords must indicate on the lease the lowest
amount of rent paid in the past 12 months. This amount must be
shown in the “Notice to New Tenant” section (section G) of the lease.
Landlords often leave this section blank, or if it is filled out, the tenant
has no tool to verify whether the landlord entered a truthful amount.
Therefore, if you’re moving, give a copy of your lease to the new
tenant!

If you move, pass on the lease directly to the new
tenant — or, if possible, you can mail your old lease to
your former address.
